What you don’t realize when you buy a client server system is they’re selling you software that is built in the language that is available to them in that day and time. Software language changes drastically and every year the change that the speed of change in software language changes even faster so it’s accelerating. Now you know some systems that are out in the market right now they’re now telling you they’re never going to be certified quote unquote and that’s just because they don’t have the capability because they language they built the software in 10 15 20 years ago it’s just not capable of configuring to the requirements of the certifications that need to be there. So that’s server those types of systems you know imagine how bad they are today how we out they’ll be even five ten years from now you definitely don’t want to be buying them not because they’re not certified but because the technology that they’re built on is just that antiquated. So when you’re buying a client-server system you have to keep that in mind that the technology will be that think of Google you know they started out with just a search engine now they have google mail google documents google calendars google glasses they have all kinds of amazing products out there google voice it’s because the capability has changed over time. Not because google’s just keeps on growing but that the actual language which google uses has changed over time. So a client-server system is only going to be as good as the day you buy it and that’s the point and that’s why they typically only charge you a big bunch of money upfront and for updates because they know ultimately they’re not going to be able to justify their price. So the clients are the client server systems say that you know that are not even going to bother trying to be certified because it’s not they can’t even afford the cost of upgrading the language their software is built in. That’s one thing the systems that are telling you they’re better than that that our client server systems right now. Those are the systems that five ten years from now are going to be in the same position that those other non-certified systems will be. Alright so that their that they’re going to be in that same situation 5 10 years from now. Now with a web web based platform a lot of people don’t realize this that the technology just like Google is evolved over the years and you don’t see a difference when you’re getting online to google but literally the language its built-in is on the backend changed. The user interface may or may not change that much but what the capability and the power of that language is changing on the back end so the software when you look at Genesis the software that you see in front of you is one thing the software that is actually behind the scenes being built is changing. Literally what we built eight years ago the language we used eight years ago and the language we have today is two totally different things. You could never do that with a client service system so what does that do for us that gives us whole new world of possibility going forward in a whole bunch of different fronts whether that’s integrations or research or whole bunch of other things which I’m not going to go into too much here but the point here is that technology changes over time. You don’t want to be in a position with a client service system 5 10 years from now where it was good for you on the day you bought it but five ten years from now the systems that are out especially the web based platforms are so far advanced because they were able to change with the times you don’t want to be in that position where you have to start the whole search for software all over again so again web based win.

When that fails so if that internet I mean if that internal network fails your computer with a client server system your computers that you have with the software on them can’t talk to the server they can’t work. They can access data they’re useless. Again you have to hire some off-site tech support even if it’s a patient then you have to find the patient get them in the office and hopefully they can reconfigure this whole thing. And if they do even if you do find a person they comment yours let’s say you call geek squad or something from bestbuy they come in the first thing I do is explain this whole thing to them. Explain your software they have to find the recovery disks they have to do all this stuff then they have to determine is your data wiped out. You’ve to restore the data is your server fried there’s a user if you need user then there’s a diagnostic process that could take hours. Could take you a whole day just to go to the spot just to figure out what they have to do before they even get to it. With our system with a web-based platform again you’re logging in anytime anywhere all you have to do is get on the internet. So there is no internal network effect there’s no problem 24-7 on-site support. Let’s say our data center for some reason it survived Hurricane sandy but for some reason there’s God forbid some other catastrophe that knocks down one of the data centers. So I’ll have to knock down all of our data centers but let’s say it that happen too, in a data center you understand that there’s power backups there’s redundancy on top of redundancy and the people it’s men 24-7 by technical support people. So the odds of the entire data center is going to go down are very small but let’s say just our servers went down in a data center. There’s people there that know our product that know our servers that know exactly how they’re configured and are there their sole job is to restore these things. All right of course we have redundancy and the data backup and the software backups and we have not only in each data center but off site as well. So the likelihood that our network on our in our data center go down it’s going to have even close to the amount of down time that you would have is almost none we’ve had a very very very little downtime in the eighth plus years we’ve been in business. Definitely I don’t think any downtime that our clients have noticed in any real way. Though internal network failure again web-based platform wins hands down.

Power outages happen much more frequently now with in practices. So system is non-operational you have a client service system that servers down all the computers are down everything is down even if you have laptops with batteries they can’t access the server so they don’t work the system your software still won’t work. You know if you have a laptop with a battery. So power outage is often accompanied by power surges which can damage your servers so again I practiced in Florida for a while. The power used to go out three o’clock every day when we had a thunderstorm right so the power would go out our battery backups would kick in our computers will be up and running client server systems that can also short out your server. If your server gets short out your datas wiped out yet that again go to that whole process of restoring your data hopefully not having to but you might have to replace your server. Reconfigure the database reconfigure your network the whole night and against who’s going to do that for you. Power surges disrupt internal networks which can take valuable time to set back up. Alright so once that internal network is down you’re not the best person to set that back up. Now with a web-based platform you can use a laptop until the power comes back on and in this case you’re not dependent on the server also being back up because you can also run the entire internet connection through your cell phone. They even have wireless cards you can run that are just dedicated little you can buy them from any of the cell phone carriers they’re called Wi-Fi cards Verizon and you all of them have it you just turn this thing on and you can run multiple computers off of it. If it runs just like a cell phone only the only thing it does is Wi-Fi. So power up powers out turn on your laptops and your cell phone and you don’t miss a step. So no servers needed no network needed so even in a power outage the advantage is with a web-based system so for both for internet down time and the power outage. All things considered by far the web-based platform is the better option. Now remember that all these other things cost you time on the client server side costs you time, energy, stress and definitely cost you money.

All right so what happens if you lose the internet? With a client service system I got this again all the time and all the time the only people you’ve ever learned of whether or not an internet-based system or web-based system is better for you.So where this misconception comes from a lot of times is from the only education you’ve gotten is from somebody that sells a client-server system. So the client server system your updates are not available so you can’t get the updates that’s the worst thing that can happen if your internet goes down. With our system the internet going down in your office is not the end of the world anymore. Maybe five years ago that was a little bit harder than it is now but I can run an entire practice off with an iphone. With wireless internet connection and that is still one hundred percent data encrypted everything is still one hundred percent HIPAA compliant everything is still good so with a client server system. Worst case as you can’t get your updates worst case with the internet system web-based system is you can’t get on the system your can’t access your data for a little bit of time but again if your crash box I call it I used to work in the in as a waiter when I was younger as a student and we had a crash box if the power went out or something there was a crash box and you to open it and their pens and pencils and old school order forms you see if diners and things you could still run your business off of calculators. The crash box for a web-based platform when the internet goes down is your iphone. And then your systems right back up and running as long as you set it up that way from the beginning it should be no problem.
