Get New Patients From This Viral Marketing Strategy
[Man I think you’re going to love this post about how to get more new patients from this viral strategy. In the last post I discussed using “in house” giveaways to increase engagement on your Facebook ads. When you increase engagement it does multiple things that include… increasing “social proof”, decreasing ad costs, and increasing your reach from your current patients. You can read the entire post by clicking here. Today I’m going to piggy back on that post… BUT… this will go deeper into getting new patients and reach with a viral component. This isn’t dependent on your current patients or “in house” marketing. It can actually take on a life of it’s own and reach people in your community that typically wouldn’t engage with your posts or content. This strategy gets you in front of people that have no idea how chiropractic can impact their family beyond back pain and neck pain. So if that’s important to you… keep reading and be ready to take some action. The vast majority of people don’t “want” to focus on their health. I think it’s human nature to look for the easy path, and that’s why most people choose the pill over the healthy lifestyle (that includes chiropractic). But people love games and challenges… and they love winning stuff. So if you can meet them where they are and then start to show them solutions to their health problems, create value for them, and build relationships with them… then you will get new patients that never would have engaged with you before. And this is one of my favorite ways to do it. Giveaways! But not just any giveaway. Do GOOD giveaways! And do giveaways that don’t necessarily involve you or your “product”. Here’s the mistake I see people make when it comes to giveaways. They try and giveaway their own product or service. But people see right through that because it’s tied to you and people don’t feel like it’s much of a prize to get a new patient appointment. LOL And I think most chiropractors don’t want to pony up for a decent giveaway prize because they see it as an expense vs a marketing investment in their practice. When you do GOOD giveaways it far outweighs the “expense” you put into it. So let me give you an example of what I would do as a giveaway for a chiropractic practice and then I’ll finish up with the details on why this strategy absolutely KILLS IT! I would get a nice bundle of gifts from local businesses that people really love. And you can keep it “health” related so that it’s still relevant to you. An example would be a 60 minute massage (from someone other than you), coupled with a 2 month membership to a food delivery service like Green Chef (it’s organic), and bundle those on top of 3 month membership to a local gym. You’ll end up with a great prize worth a few hundred bucks that people love. So why does this type of giveaway work? #1… It’s a GOOD FREAKING GIFT! You want good results? Use good giveaway gifts. The number one mistake I see is someone trying to be a tight ass and use cheap gifts that don’t get your prospects attention and fewer people are willing to share in return for additional entries. #2… it’s a gift that people love and are willing to share with others so that you can get the viral effect. You get others sharing your giveaway and that builds your list, subscribers and followers. Note: you should still use paid traffic to amplify this strategy. #3… The people that are sharing have identified themselves as someone who is interested in doing something about their health. You don’t know what level or step they are in but they’ve raised their hand. Now it’s your job to build the relationship with them to show how you can help. Now let’s wrap this up. Giveaway software definitely makes this job easier and streamlined for you. I personally use this software to set up my giveaways. It’s easy to set up… easy to use… it’s super affordable… and it keeps score for you. All you have to do is follow the prompts and share the link they give you. Then when the giveaway has ended you simple click a button and the software draws the winner for you. It even keeps track of people trying to “game” the giveaway and kicks them out. I’ve use a handful of different software and this one is hands down my favorite. I will come back with another blog post with some really specific gifts to use as giveaways in particular niches to build an athlete practice… wellness practice or pediatric practice. Right so if you want to look at the data across multiple practices this may rain out to you. If you want to look at data across multiple practices you can’t do that without third-party software meaning go to my pc or something like that. You certainly can’t aggregate data meaning take practice take data from practice A and practice B mush it all together and see how many you patients I got across all my practices. How many you know what’s my retention what’s my PVA across all practices. And then drill into that those metrics those key performance indicators which you can only access while you’re at the office or remotely with gotomypc. Our system you can access all that information anywhere but you can’t aggregate the data and drill into it and see which perform which practices performing better compare them side to side you might have multiple doctors in each location you want to compare doctors doctor doctor across practices none of that’s possible with a client service system. Our pricing includes multiple locations there’s 24/7 access to all the data and the data can be aggregated. We have whole organizations franchises which put our system in every office and then they aggregate all of that data across all their practices and compare and contrast practice by practice and see which ones are more efficient less efficient which area and they wind up changing their processes and procedures in those offices based on the comparative data analysis. Also research is really huge for this. You know technique groups like CVP are now having all their practices that purchase our system and use it and they’re using the posture array data that that gets put into our database and they’re going to be able to look at that data across all the practices that are that are subscribing to the CVP methods. Let’s say for one research project and look at all the patient data across all those practices independent of which practice they came from and see how the technique or that research project is working what were the results etc. Network effect this is huge this I can’t even I can’t go into how valuable this is not just for you but for chiropractic as a whole there’s no artificial intelligence built into a client-server system because there’s no network. I’ll get into that in a second. So for example your staff must find claims this is our biggest differentiating factor. With a client service system there’s no rules built in so a lot of your staff is wasting time just finding for example insurance claims this applies to other areas too but they’re looking for the insurance claim that they have to call on that takes them at least half the time before they even get on the phone call on the claim. Alright so finding its waste tremendous amount of waste of time it’s inefficient and what’s worse about that is you actually don’t know how much work they’re supposed to find as opposed to how much they did find. With our system since it’s web-based it’s built into a database when you log into the system the rules are built into a centralized database we’re actually analyzing the billing data across all of our practices. We’re helping build in rules that find claims for you and push them to your team. Now you can outsource your billing to us or you can keep it in-house but the point is the rules engine that finds those claims is leveraged across the entire network and the more doctors that join the web-based platform genesis the more data we get the better that rules engine gets. They’re way more manual process. Literally they’re plugins their iPad applications all those are like I told you earlier security risks. There are more manual process so the integration of the data exchange between those applications and the actual database is way more manual when. They’re more manual like for example uploading billing data to clearing houses and exchanging data between credit card processing systems and all that stuff. Not only is it not as efficient, but it takes time for your your staff and your team to do it God forbid it’s you but there’s actually time that it takes people to do that. There’s time and it’s error-prone whenever you involve a person doesn’t matter how good their intention and just use yourself as an example you make mistakes I make mistakes when I have to be involved in a process that is mission critical to my business. Even with the best intentions knowing if I don’t do it right it’s going to cost me money I always can make a mistaken you know periodically I did I will do it. With a web-based platform they’re way more automated for example credit card processing and automated payments posting directly to patient accounts happens in real time. Uploads to clearing houses and imports of electronic EOB all happens in real time automatically. There’s no manual processes involved doesn’t take your staff and do it there’s definitely less training time for all that stuff so you have little to no staff involvement less error there’s less risk of less compliance risk list. What you don’t realize when you buy a client server system is they’re selling you software that is built in the language that is available to them in that day and time. Software language changes drastically and every year the change that the speed of change in software language changes even faster so it’s accelerating. Now you know some systems that are out in the market right now they’re now telling you they’re never going to be certified quote unquote and that’s just because they don’t have the capability because they language they built the software in 10 15 20 years ago it’s just not capable of configuring to the requirements of the certifications that need to be there. So that’s server those types of systems you know imagine how bad they are today how we out they’ll be even five ten years from now you definitely don’t want to be buying them not because they’re not certified but because the technology that they’re built on is just that antiquated. So when you’re buying a client-server system you have to keep that in mind that the technology will be that think of Google you know they started out with just a search engine now they have google mail google documents google calendars google glasses they have all kinds of amazing products out there google voice it’s because the capability has changed over time. Not because google’s just keeps on growing but that the actual language which google uses has changed over time. So a client-server system is only going to be as good as the day you buy it and that’s the point and that’s why they typically only charge you a big bunch of money upfront and for updates because they know ultimately they’re not going to be able to justify their price. So the clients are the client server systems say that you know that are not even going to bother trying to be certified because it’s not they can’t even afford the cost of upgrading the language their software is built in. That’s one thing the systems that are telling you they’re better than that that our client server systems right now. Those are the systems that five ten years from now are going to be in the same position that those other non-certified systems will be. Alright so that their that they’re going to be in that same situation 5 10 years from now. Now with a web web based platform a lot of people don’t realize this that the technology just like Google is evolved over the years and you don’t see a difference when you’re getting online to google but literally the language its built-in is on the backend changed. The user interface may or may not change that much but what the capability and the power of that language is changing on the back end so the software when you look at Genesis the software that you see in front of you is one thing the software that is actually behind the scenes being built is changing. Literally what we built eight years ago the language we used eight years ago and the language we have today is two totally different things. You could never do that with a client service system so what does that do for us that gives us whole new world of possibility going forward in a whole bunch of different fronts whether that’s integrations or research or whole bunch of other things which I’m not going to go into too much here but the point here is that technology changes over time. You don’t want to be in a position with a client service system 5 10 years from now where it was good for you on the day you bought it but five ten years from now the systems that are out especially the web based platforms are so far advanced because they were able to change with the times you don’t want to be in that position where you have to start the whole search for software all over again so again web based win.
